Joan Rivers Dies at 81

The stand-up comedy artist/reality star/actress/fashion critic (that you probably know from Fashion Police) has died today at 1:17pm ET (New York time zone). The news was confirmed by her daughter, Melissa Rivers.
Joan Rivers was 81 years old and had several health problems and was hospitalized for that on August 28. She suffered cardiac arrest when she was in surgery on her throat. During it, she stopped breathing, which only brought further complications.
Joan's medical condition was too fragile, so we kept on her updates through her daughter and family who were said to be keeping their "fingers crossed" on Joan Rivers very serious condition.

"My mother's greatest joy in life was to make people laugh," Melissa Rivers said. "Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon."

Rivers could be tough, annoying and very rude, but certainly she was a fighter... and a laugh!
