"EXITS" - A psychological drama review
"Exits is a psychological drama short film about a group of students whose late night poker game is interrupted by a stranger in a suit, he comes with a message that none of them want to face."
That's right dear readers! Exits is a short film produced by Albert Pagan and J. Antonio that shows us the reality of life from the labyrinthine standpoint of death. Ashley (Alex Kidder) is a girl who's standing in a stairwell, singing. she gets quite intrigued when a stranger in a suit (Hardy Calderon) appears, out of the blue, and delivers some bad news about herself and her friends. The entire gang is composed of Ashley, Green (Tim Farrell), Antoine (Jean Henry), Mark (Jose Espinal) and Gerri (Arlene Castillo). They have to make a quite important decision: to crossover or cease to exist.
The entire story makes us think of what the afterlife is like. When Ashley and the gang are surprised by some serious matters, they are not quite sure whether they can face them or not. The film shows us more than meets the eye. An entire perspective about the other side. What happens if we crossover? What happens if we don't? Where are we? Where are we going after? These are a few questions that you will probably be asking yourself at the end of the film and, especially, you will love the idea and environment of it!
I just can think of how amazing the film is for touching this great subject and for giving us a massive lesson about cherishing our friends, otherwise we will lose them for good.
The soundtrack along with the whole idea of the film will provide food for thought and give you goosebumps since the very first second until you're close to the end of the movie... The big final is just mind-blowing!
Believe me when I say that you will think in a very, very interesting way about your life and the relation you have got with your friends and family!
